Varun Chhabra is the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering with over 20 years of teaching experience in engineering education. He holds an M.Tech. from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at HBTU, Kanpur.
He has extensive expertise in the fields of polymer composites, advanced manufacturing, CAD/CAM, robotics, programming, and engineering design. His current research focuses on hybrid polymer composites, their manufacturing techniques, machining characteristics, and mechanical behavior for advanced engineering applications.
With a strong commitment to academic excellence, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate, supervised numerous student projects, and actively contributed to curriculum development, research, and institutional administration.
He has published numerous research papers in reputed national and international journals and presented his research at various national and international conferences. His research contributions are focused on composite materials, manufacturing processes, and emerging engineering technologies. He continues to engage in research, innovation, and collaborative projects to address contemporary challenges in mechanical engineering.
As an academic leader, he is dedicated to fostering innovation, outcome-based education, industry–academia collaboration, and skill development. He motivates students to pursue research, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning, preparing them to excel in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
